Skansen Kennel was founded in Sweden in 1950 by Sylvia Hammarstrom, then moved to Sebastopol, California in 1964, where Sylvia has been continuously breeding top show, family, pet and companion Schnauzers for the last 60 years, located on a 100 acre ranch one hour North of San Francisco in Sonoma County.
Here at Skansen Kennel we are very passionate about breeding beautiful, healthy and active companions as well as top show quality pups. As of August 2012 the top five winning Giant Schnauzers in the USA are Skansen-bred and we are so proud of the continued sucess of all our dogs, not only in the ring but as valued family members as well. Wether you are looking for a special star to compete in confirmation, an active schnauzer who craves agility work or a even a lap dog we have the perfect schnauzer to fit your lifestyle.
